Wheat farming is the major agriculture found in the region Livestock herding Oil and natural gas in the region mainly in Oklahoma The region is sparsely populated. The region is mostly open space made up of farms and ranches.

There are no large major cities as seen in the other regions, but there are some important cities. Most of the major cities are found in the eastern half of the region. Fargo, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, Omaha, NB., Kansas City, KS., and Tulsa, Ok.

Mountains make it hard for development of the region. Very little farming except in the foot hills of the Rocky Mountains. Livestock herding also found in the region. Logging is found in the region Coal mining in Wyoming Tourism is the largest industry. Skiing in the winter. National Parks such as Yellowstone National Park brings in many tourist in the summer. Region is sparsely populated

There are not many major cities found in the region. Denver, Co is the largest city of the region located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on the eastern edge of the region. Salt Lake City, Utah

23 Texas Texas is the largest state in the continental United States and is large enough to be considered a region by itself.

Climate of Texas changes going east to west. Eastern Texas is a humid Subtropical climate, As one move west the climate becomes drier.
