4 Philosophy We believe athletics is an extension of the classroom. We believe we have a platform to teach lessons and concepts that they can use to be successful now and after they graduate.

11 What you can expect We will work hard to make sure you are prepared to win To be loyal to you in all areas To treat you with respect and dignity To do everything we can to make MacArthur the best place to play in the state!

12 Team Objectives Four Teams Varsity Junior Varsity Freshmen A/B

13 Team Objectives Freshmen All players will play as equal as possible Players are divided on ability level and physical development Primary objective is to introduce players to our system

14 Team Objectives Junior Varsity Work hard to get all players in Prepare players for Varsity

15 Team Objectives Varsity Playing time is not guaranteed Primary focus is to win We will always seek to find role players to help us Play as many people as we can

16 Choosing Starters We have no set depth chart Players can earn playing time in practice We evaluate our players each week We put players in positions to help us this season and in the future

17 Choosing Starters Criteria we use Trust and commitment Work ethic Knowledge of assignment Hitting and mental toughness

18 Choosing Starters We believe all these qualities should be possessed by our players The final criteria then is talent Players can always speak to their position coaches for clarification

19 Parent Conferences We ask that you respect our chain of command Player speaks to position coach Player and position coach meet with head coach Parent speaks to position coach

20 Parent Conferences Parent, athlete, position coach and head coach conference Conversation will be only about your child and how they can improve

21 Practice expectations Varsity / JV will practice from 4:25 – 6:00 Monday – Wed Varsity team meeting Thursday 4:15 – 5:00 JV Game Day

22 Practice expectations Freshmen will practice until 4:45 Monday – Wednesday Thursday is game day

23 Practice expectations If you are going to miss we expect a call from the player Academic related issues need to be cleared with coach in advance

24 Training Room If an injury occurs we ask that you work with our trainers This helps us track and manage the injury and the recovery
