6 Plant Vs Animal Cells: Topic: Plant vs Animal Cells How are plant cells specialized? How are animal cells different from plant cells? Information: Page 191-192 Plant cells have chloroplasts to produce food, have cell walls, and have a LARGE central vacuole. Animal cells do NOT contain chloroplasts and therefore do NOT make their own food. Animal cells also do NOT have a cell wall. Animal cells have only the cell membrane for protection of the cell.

9 Unicellular Organisms Topic: Unicellular organisms Can an single cell be a whole organism? What exactly does the cell do? Are there many unicellular organisms on Earth? Information: Page 190 YES!! Cells may be complete organisms and can perform all life functions as an individual cell. They grow, respond to the environment, transform energy, and reproduce. Just like multicellular organisms do. In terms of their numbers, unicellular organisms dominate life on Earth. Some examples include Yeast and Paramecium.

Information: Page 190 Cells throughout an organism can develop in different ways to perform different tasks. All multicellular organisms depend on communication and cooperation among specialized cells. Examples include pancreatic cells, blood cells, muscle cells, etc.
