3. The history of drama started twenty-five thousand years ago, about two thousand year before Shakespeare. Between 600 and 200 BC the ancient Athenians created the art of which we call acting or theater arts. This technique that they have created has been going on for about two millennia. Acting was originally poetry or prose. Acting became an entertainment for most people and stayed that way. The Greek word for drama is “action”. The two mask that you always see in acting represent comedy and tragedy. A theater is what most acting or stage plays are showed on. The word theater means “stage of seeing”. The first theater was built in 1576, in London. The owner of this theater was a man named James Burbage. The second theater ever made was called the Rose Theater. This theater was made in 1587, and the third theater was named the Hope Theater and made in 1613 and was the founding place of Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was the most famous English poet of all time. He created some of the most amazing plays and poems. William Shakespeare was baptized April 26, 1564, and he died April 23, 1616. No one knows when he was born. William Shakespeare created the story of Romeo and Juliet. He also wrote the story of Julius Caesar.
