The BeeBot is an exciting new programmable floor robot, it’s simple and child friendly layout is a perfect starting point for teaching control, directional language and programming to young children but I also wanted to support learning across the curriculum. Using BeeBots are a fun way to support learning as I had already worked with these within the Primary 1 classroom. I decided to create a box which would incorporate many aspects of the curriculum but the context would be the story “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt” and using the BeeBot as the tool for delivering the intended learning. It is also hoped to use this to promote transition from nursery then into school through all stages, children bringing their learning with them through school. It was decided to begin with “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt”. I began by collecting as many resources as possible. I did this by sourcing the internet and found many resources for use across the curriculum. Within the box there is a pen drive with many resources to be used within the classroom. These include activities to promote reading, writing, literacy, maths, ICT, PE, PSED. These also included interactive white board activities.
