13 The word Lent comes from the Anglo-Saxon word for: Spring, Summer, Winter? The first day of Lent is: Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday Lent is a time to remember Jesus being tempted three times in the wilderness by Satan. In the first temptation, Satan tried to get Jesus to turn which of the following into bread: A brick, a stone, a log In the second temptation, Satan took Jesus to the highest point of the Temple and challenged him to: Fight him, deface the Temple, throw himself down to be saved by angels

14 In the third temptation Satan showed Jesus the world and said he could control all this without any interference if he would: Have a meal with Satan, bow down and worship Satan, pay Satan 30 pieces of silver Lent is the time when many Christians give up something they enjoy eating in order to learn more about themselves and how to live a life closer to the example of Jesus. This is called: Fasting, binging, whining Lent is the time when many give money to a good cause. This is called: Offering, begging, charity
