3 No Worker Left Behind No Worker Left Behind (NWLB) is Governor Granholm's vision to Accelerate worker transitions through learning. Support the state’s employers and economic development needs. Align the use of existing training resources with those who could best utilize them. A one time offer for those who meet eligibility requirements, to obtain 1 year worth of tuition, worth UP to $5,000 at most Michigan community college, university, or other approved training program at no cost to participant. NWLB program was birthed as a two year program, but the sunset of the program is July 31, 2010 - so funding for training will be 1 year at this point. Note: All training must lead to an advanced certification or diploma. This is NOT an entitlement program. You MUST be eligible for WIA and suitable for training. Some restrictions may apply. 5 No Worker Left Behind  Any person who is receiving UIA (Unemployment) benefits or exhausted and have not returned to work full-time.  Any person who has received a notice of termination or layoff from employment.  Any employed person over the age of 18 whose total Family/Household income is $40,000 or less during the preceding 12 months.  Must be at least 18 years old, not have graduated from high school in the last two years. Academic holds with training institution. 5. If you have attended school fulltime for the last 2 years consecutively (10 credits or more each semester). 6. Criminal background as it conflicts with certain career fields. 7. Lack of professionalism. 8. Lack of passion. 9. Lack of follow-through. 10. Desired field of study is not listed as high demand.
