Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth in the New Testament.

The Trinity that states God is one being: the father, God the Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Jesus, Son of God, was born from Mary and Joseph. He taught and preached the Word of God to the world. It is said he performed miracles and healings. His closest followers are known as the Twelve Apostles. One of Jesus’ Apostles, Judas, betrayed him and got him arrested by the Romans Jesus was accused of blasphemy, or associating oneself with God, and was crucified on a cross Jesus died on the cross and later rose from the dead

Created the universe and mankind Wanted a son, sent the Angel Gabriel to tell Mary, a virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus with Joseph, a shepherd but remained a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit: guides the person to understanding the word of God He can transfer information to people so they can understand it Christians believe the Holy Spirit is in every person the Spirit leads people to their faith He guides you to the truth

The Ten Commandments were given from God to Moses. These Commandments are also in Judaism and Islam. 1. I am the Lord your God; you shall not have strange Gods before me. 2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. 3. Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day. 4. Honor your mother and your father.

5. You shall not kill 6. You shall not commit adultery. 7. You shall not steal. 8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. 10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

The Bible is the sacred book of the Christian faith. It is broken into two parts, the New Testament and the Old Testament. The New Testament is comprised of the life and teachings of Jesus, and letters from the disciples. The Old Testament is comprised of different books about God, life before Jesus, Moses, and palms. There are 60 books in the bible.

Christians believe heaven is a place where people go after their time on Earth is over. Heaven is described as a place where God lives with Mary, is filled with angels, and it is place of happiness. To get to heaven you must live a “good life”. Different denominations of Christianity all have their own idea on how to get into heaven.

Hell, in Christian beliefs, is a place where souls go after life who did not accept Jesus as their savior, did not receive God’s grace, and sinned repeatedly without repentance. Hell is described as a place filled with the Devil, demons, and fallen angels. Jesus describes it as “weeping and gnashing of teeth” in the New Testament.

* believe you have the free will to do only evil *you cannot pray to saints *salvation is a result of divine grace *agree that God wants us to do good work * do not call Mary the mother of god *do not believe Mary is the mediator between the people and God * believe you have the free will to do good and evil *you can pray to saints and Mary *salvation is by works not faith *agree that God wants us to do good work *call Mary the mother of God *believe Mary acts as a mediator between people and God

Believe these things that are not found in the bible: * believe that the pope is the mediator between God and mankind *believe that priests have the power to forgive sins * believe in purgatory *do not allow priests to marry *think they may not go to heaven *pray the same prayer over and over again *kiss and bow to statues Follow the Bible closely and literally: *do not have a pope *do not think that priests can forgive sins *think the priests can marry *do not believe in purgatory *always think they are going to heaven *do not repeat prayers *do not worship statues
