2 Highlights Dr Kenner Rice will join the IRP in Summer, 2006. Dr Rice is internationally recognized medicinal chemist, who will oversee PET ligand development The IRP entered into a contractual arrangement with the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center that will lower residential clinical expenses and promote clinical collaborations. In late winter of 2006, most of the NIDA IRP moves to the new NIHBRC located on the JHBMC campus.

3 Highlights Drs. Yun Wang and Marilyn Huestis have been tenured to lead Neural Protection and Regeneration Research Section and the Chemistry and Drug Metabolism Research Section, respectively. Dr. Kenzie was appointed as the Chief, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Research Branch.

5 Shared Resources NIH Policy: Specialized reagents or animal models (vectors, transgenic animals, etc) should be publicly available within 24 months after publication. 6 Shared Resources All specialized animals and reagents will be made available according to NIH guidelines to investigators individually and/or via repositories. IRP with few exceptions, already conforms to this policy Should council recommend formalizing this policy for all IRP Investigators
