2. Petroleum Engineers have always interested me because they work for oil companies and the price of oil is so high I figured that they make a lot of money.

3. There are very few Petroleum Engineers left as more retire and not as many graduate. Big oil companies are looking for more of them so I think it would be a great career.

4. Petroleum Engineers work for large oil companies and remove oil and natural gas from the ground. Sometimes they may sell equipment to oil companies.

5. Petroleum Engineers must go to school and have a 4-year bachelor degree. Schools that offer them are, Texas A&M, Penn State, University of Alaska, Louisiana State, and many more.

6. They must take basic engineering, geology, well drilling, reservoir fluids, math, chemistry and physics. You must excel in these classes to get the job and must be in college for at least 4 years

7. Petroleum Engineers must be able to communicate because they have to write draft proposals, and writing reports and you have to work in a team of people.

8. On a starting year a petroleum may make 60,000 and up to 100,000 with signing bonus. If you work more than 3 years you can make over 145,000 dollars a year.

9. If I were a petroleum Engineer I could work in any of these places seen on the map to the right. As you can see there is a large variety of places on many continents where I could work.

10. My career cluster is Science, Technology, Engineering, and mathematics. It could also be under Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources because you dig oil from the ground.

11. My career interest is Doer because you have to actually dig sometimes. It is also investigator because you need to know where to dig an calculate how much petroleum has been dug.

12. As a petroleum engineer you must dress in casual clothes because when you are drilling you could get oil on you. You should dress as seen in the picture to the right.

13. They work Monday through Friday 40 hours a week just like most people. They usually have to be willing to relocate to get the job because they need to move near oil.

14. Why do I like the Career I would like this career because I could be able to move to a different country and make lots of money. I would also only have to work 40 hours a week. Overall, it seems very fun.

15. Yes I am actually more interested now then before. I think it would be easy to get a job because of shortage and I also think they get paid a lot for what they do.
