Includes a discussion of research done in the past on the subject. – Definitions: Define important concepts. – Research Goal: State the hypotheses to be tested --that is, what you hope to show in the body of the paper. If the paper is thematic and descriptive rather than a quantitative test of hypotheses, a clear statement of the theme is substituted.
