By Ella Pusey,Molly Staudt, And Evie Nix THE EARTH AND MOON

EARTH Earth is 12,742 kilometers in size. The Earth has no craters, but has mountains, valleys, hills, and plains. The Earth has 6 times the amount of gravity than the moon. From the equator is 9.789 m/s2 and from the poles 9.832 m/s2. The layers of the Earths Atmosphere are 1 st Thermosphere 2 nd Mesosphere, 3 rd Stratosphere, and final Troposphere. The Earth is made of 70% of water such as lakes, rivers, ponds, and also oceans. The Earth has Erosion including caves, and volcanos. The Earth rotates on it`s axis in 24 hours which makes a day. It takes the Earth 365.25 days to orbit the Earth. Seasons are caused by Earth revolving around the sun.

MOON The moon is 3,474 kilometers in size. The moon gets hit by parts floating in space which cause craters. The moon has 17% gravity, just barely enough to keep in orbit. Due to the lack of Atmosphere the moon has no weather. The moon has 6% percent water but it is frozen. The moon has no weathering but its does have erosion. The moon rotates on its axis as it orbits the Earth. It takes 29.5 days for the moon to go around the earth. The moon makes high and low tides due to gravity.

The earth has an axis The earth has ice The earth has landforms The earth revolves/rotates The earth is a planet The earth causes effects to the moon The earth has gravity COMPA RISON EARTH MOON The moon has an axis The moon has ice The moon has landforms The moon revolves/rotates The moon is a planet The moon causes effects to the earth The moon has gravity

FUN FACTS The moon actually does have a little bit of atmosphere and if you piled it all up you would get 10,000 kg. Because of the moons effect of the tides the highest tide was 53.38 ft. high. The moon actually has 6% of water. It orbits the earth at 2,300mph. Its more than 4.5 billion years old. Its earths nearest neighbor in space its close to a quarter of a million miles away. Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon on July 20, 1969. The moon is egg shaped due to gravity. A shooting star is really burning debris. Sometimes asteroids are buried when causing craters.

MOON PHASES The reason the moon seams to change shape is simply because of the sun`s light. The phases of the moon are New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, Waning Crescent and back to New Moon.
