22 Passed by the 80 th Texas Legislature Increases qualifying income levels to 300% of poverty level – a family of four may bring home (net) up to $61,950 and still qualify Modifies retirement incentive to the following: $3,000 for a car that is 3 years old or newer $3,000 for a truck that is 2 years old or newer $3,500 for a hybrid that is 1 year old or newer Limits total cost of replacement vehicle not to exceed $25,000 Allows for the retirement/replacement of vehicles at least 10 years old (does not have to fail an emissions test to qualify) Limits administrative cost to 10% of the funds provided Requires funds be electronically transferred within 5 business days LIRAP 22
