Question ads only supported by one scientific study Watch for research presented out of context or used in an unproven manner Some manufacturers may only talk about differences, not effectiveness If it is endorsed by an organization, it may only be a member of the organization

The World Anti-Doping Agency Doping: use of artifice whether substances OR methods potentially dangerous to athlete’s health OR capable of enhancing performance or presence in athlete’s body of a substance OR ascertainment of use of a method on a list annexed to Olympic movement Anti-Doping code. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) fights against all forms of doping at an international level. Doping is prohibited because it goes against the ethos and spirit of the Olympic games and also because it is dangerous to athlete’s bodies. Testing consists of; testing of the first 4 athletes in each event, as well as 2 random competitors. Each athlete has a chaperone who is with them during the testing process to prevent cheating.

Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport 1986- Canadian federal government established a commission for Fair Play, addressing ethical issues within sports, it then merged with Canadian Centre for Drug-Free sport to become Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) Formed in 1995 by Charles Dubin and Ben Johnston It was created to help promote drug free sports, and fair play with in competitions. CCES helped establish the National anti-doping organization (ANADO). Building strong ANADO’s around the world will help ensure the world anti-doping code is known, and also to build an athlete’s and the public’s confidence that all sports are played without performance enhancing substances.
