13 A Volunteer teacher This interview is based on a real story. Wang shu was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province and grew up in Beijing. Upon graduation from the English Department of Beijing Normal University, she left Beijing for Inner Mongolia working as a volunteer teacher.
