2. Atom Everything is made up of atoms. Atoms are made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. An object becomes charged when its atoms have more protons than electrons or more electrons than protons. ATOM In the middle there are: PROTONS (+) AND NUETRONS In the outer part there are: ELECTRONS (-) (free to move)

3. Charges. Protons are positively charged (+) Electrons are negatively charged (-) Neutrons have no charge. The charge of one proton is equal in strength to the charge of one electron.
