3 The Creatures Revenge Victor receives a letter from his father telling him that his brother, William has been strangled to death. Victor goes back to his hometown, and on his way back he sees his mighty creature in the darkness. At this point Victor is convinced that the creature has killed his brother.

4 The Creature Explained One day Victor goes on a nature walk to raise his spirits (Mont Blanc), and the creature jumps a mountain in order to confront Victor. The creature explains how Victor left it alone to figure out the world on its own. The creature had to learn how to eat, speak, and survive on its own. Most importantly the creature learns society will not accept it.

9 The End is the Beginning The book ends with Victor explaining his story to Robert Walton. Walton started the book with the letters to his sister.
