4. 2 Point IDs US school photo ID with transcript or school record US college photo ID with transcript Valid federal, state local government employee driver license

5. Proof of Address Utility or credit card bill issued in the past 90 days that shows your name at your current address Checking or savings account statement from a bank or credit union issued in the past 60 days High school or college report card or transcript containing your address issued within the past 2 years If you are under 18 then the DMV will accept Parent Guardian certification that verifies you are living with a parent or guardian.. 6. GDL Graduated Driver License-Sought to enhance driver preparation by implementing a multi-stage driver licensing system. The system gradually introduces privileges to first time drivers, extends their practice driving time and requires minimum age of 18 in order to receive an unrestricted, basic driver license.

7. GDL Restrictions placed on first time drivers must be strictly adhered to Failure to do so may result in a fine of 100$ or possible suspension. If you are under the age of 21 You need a decal sticker on your license plate

8. LAWS Must carry a valid license, insurance card, and registration Must be accompanied by a licensed driver A motorist who changes their address must report the change to MVC within 1 Week Legal name changed must give notice within 2 weeks

9. Laws A motorist with an out of state license has 60 days to apply for their NJ license CDL within 30 days Individuals that have never been licensed need to complete the GDL program All applicants for a NJ license who are under the age of 18 must present a completed consent form signed by a parent guardian.

10. All examination permit and Probationary drivers Must drive with reflective decals on the license plate of the vehicle.

11. All Applicants Must provide a Full name, current address, SS#, 6 point ID verification and documents of proof of address/legal presence in the US.

The Early Bird Road Getting a Special Learners Permit Must be @ least 16 yrs old Have sign consent of a guardian/parent Must be enrolled in approved behind the wheel driver training course An approved instructors must purcahse the permit Must Pass the MVC’s knowledge and Vision Tests Must pay the required Fee

15. Special Learners Permit Restrictions No Driving between 11:01pm and 5:00am No using hand held devices Must be accompanied by an adult Passengers are limited: –Any parent/guardian and one additional –Permit holder and all passengers must wear seat belts –Must display decals

16. CH2 DMV Book Requirements For Basic Driver License 6 Point ID Vision Test-20/50 Knowledge test- about 50 questions, need to obtain 80%

17. ROAD TEST After you pass the vision and knowledge test, if applicable you will take a behind the wheel course Under 21 6 months supervised Over 21 3 months supervised

18. Test Vehicle Requirements Must have a vehicle with a Valid inspection sticker, valid registration document and Valid insurance ID card for that vehicle. IT MAY NOT HAVE: –Obstructions or consoles that prevent examiner from reaching the foot or parking brake –The applicant must have a valid permit and be accompanied by a license driver –The accompanying driver must hold a license to operate the type of vehicle you are driving.

19. MVC Does not provide vehicles Vehicle can not be moved without a licensed driver accompanying it Elements of the Road Test: Purpose- to make sure that the applicant understands the rules of the road and can drive safely.

20. Test Items Driving Reverse Following other vehicles Nearing Corners, intersections Parking (parallel) Sitting properly Starting the Vehicle Stopping at signs Stopping smoothly Turning Turning around Using the horn Yielding the right-of-way

21. Reason for Rejection? The MVC can terminate your road test from the start. Improper, expired, or no inspection sticker Lack of access for examiner to foot brake or parking brake Any defects to the car: Poor brakes, unsafe tires, unclean interior, failed inspection, not properly equipped, fast engine idle, missing seatbelts.
