5  These are the liberties and freedoms given to all citizen.  Few rights, if any are considered absolute though.  Citizen’s rights and freedoms in the US are guaranteed by the Constitution.  In return for these rights, citizens owe allegiance to the government.

6  Amendments that protect these freedoms are: a) Bill of Rights ( the first 10 amendments) b) 14 th Amendment  The Constitution also protects the equality of citizens through majority rule.

7 1. Read in the textbook pages 120-124. 2. Get a bag of duties and responsibilities from the teacher. 3. Using the knowledge from your reading, decide whether each item is a duty or a responsibility and write it on your chart. 4. Make sure you match the right item with the correct picture as well!!
