3 What does The Eagle Project do? Now, provide therapy and skills to young and adult offenders to help end their patterns of crime Started working with street children in Sao Paulo in 1999 Also, work with the families to increase success In 2004 started working in the youth prisons

4 The Eagle Project: A Typical day: Leading psychodrama workshops with youth prisoners Visiting families to take food parcels Helping find professional courses and work for the boys and family members Phoning families to find out how the boys are progressing Attending network meetings with other organisations working with youth at risk Leading the Forgiveness and Reconciliation courses in the adult prisons Administration of the project

6 What problems are TEP trying to address? Extreme poverty, violence and drug abuse is rife in Sao Paulo Education is very limited Children, teenagers and adults turn to crime to survive

7 Statistics 70% of Young offenders in the youth prisons go on to reoffend After 8 sessions or more with The Eagle Project….. …Just 22% reoffend! It works!

11 Current financial situation George & Cally current shortfall £330 per month (with good exchange rate 4.5) £2314 per month (with bad exchange rate 2.7) Our Target (not set by George & Cally): Increase giving to George & Cally by £1500 per month to allow for exchange rate fluctuations George & Cally are VOLUNTEERS for The Eagle Project

12 The Eagle Project current financial situation £1000 per month income £500 from the UK Target 1: Increase TEP income by £2000 per month This would provide 2 extra workers (Social worker and a psychologist/psychodrama therapist) This means an extra 100 people a month would be reached

13 Run two or three groups in the youth prisons per week Take on additional staff including an administrative assistant, a social worker and a psychologist/psychodrama therapist Help hundreds more families Where are we aiming? Cost? An additional £6000 per month (at current exchange rate)

14 Praise & Prayer PRAISE FOR: New office from October Amazing start in the adult prison The way God has used Cally & George so far PRAY FOR: Protection, good health, quality family time, financial provision personally and for The Eagle Project To develop team – volunteers and funds to pay staff salaries Help with admin A bigger house so they can receive & host teams of volunteers
