4  Definition: the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other typical issues.  Trying to shame individual and society in improvement  Usually found in literature but we can also see it in TV (can anyone think of any?)

Example: a Chihuahua named “Pit-bull”

6 The point of satire is to criticize an aspect of society It’s NOT just making light of a serious issue—it’s poking fun with a PURPOSE—to expose issues within society.

7  Definition: a play, movie, etc., of light and humorous character with a happy or cheerful ending; a dramatic work in which the central motif is the triumph over adverse circumstance, resulting in a successful or happy conclusion.  Example: A Midsummer Night’s Dreams
