2 Info Inkjet printers work by propelling different-sized droplets of ink onto almost any sized page. They are the most common type of computer printers for the general consumer because of their low cost, high quality of printed documents, capability of printing in different colors, and easy to use. Most commercial and industrial ink jet printers use a piezoelectric material in an ink-filled chamber behind each nozzle instead of a heating element. When a voltage is put on, the piezoelectric material changes shape or size, which generates a pressure pulse in the fluid forcing a drop of ink from the nozzle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U14ESDoC-WY

3 Advantages They are quieter in printing than impact dot matrix or daisywheel printers. They can print better, smoother details through higher print resolution. Inkjets have the advantage of almost no warm up time and lower cost per page (not when compared to laser printers).

4 Disadvanteges The ink is very expensive($3000 per liter—or $8000 per gallon.). The lifetime is very short compared to laser printers and that is mainly aqueous ink printers.

5 Questions 1.How do inkjet printers work? (basic info) 2.What are two advantages of a inkjet printer?
