Which FUND ??

OR  In “Perfect World” – BOTH  Annual Programs Fund returns 50% of what we give to District  This can be used for District & Global Grants  And if we so choose, for Donation to Polio

 Declaration on Polio Eradication Confident Polio Free World by 2018 a reality:  400 Scientists,  Noble Laureates,  Public Health Deans &  Other Leading Health Experts  To be “Polio Free” 2 years without a case must have elapsed We can end polio: scientific community

Polio Free World?  Polio Eradication & Endgame Strategic Plan 2013 – 2018 drawn up by GPEI* (RI a Member).  Budget passed at GPEI Vaccine Summit in April 2013 - $US 5.5 billion  $4.00 billion pledged ( Aus Govt. included)  Gap to be filled $1.5 bn *Global Polio Eradication Initiative

Gap to be filled by-  Increase in existing donor support (includes RI & Gates 2 for 1 to 2018 $525m - $175m from Rotary)  New Donor Countries  Philanthropists (Bloomberg, Buffert)  Innovative Finance  Increased self- financing (domestic)  Program efficiencies Real air of confidence!

Polio Free World?  Donations to APF in current year 1013/14) will be returned via “Share” in 2016/17  We will then have entered Year 1 of the 2 year period mentioned earlier.  Still have option to use DDF or other moneys if need/situation arises

Single Choice ? In my view only one option: It gives us an open ended option and guaranteed DDF in 2016/17.

The Rotary Foundation Thank You
