2 Torah Portion: Kindness towards animals 1.Circle who gave the kindness 2.Underline who received the kindness 3.Write a “X” over what the kindness Deuteronomy 22:1-7(NIV) 22 If you see your fellow Israelite’s ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to its owner. 2 If they do not live near you or if you do not know who owns it, take it home with you and keep it until they come looking for it. Then give it back. 3 Do the same if you find their donkey or cloak or anything else they have lost. Do not ignore it. 4 If you see your fellow Israelite’s donkey or ox fallen on the road, do not ignore it. Help the owner get it to its feet. 6 If you come across a bird’s nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. 7 You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life. 2

Deuteronomy 23:24-25 (NIV) 24 If you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat all the grapes you want, but do not put any in your basket. 25 If you enter your neighbor’s grainfield, you may pick kernels with your hands, but you must not put a sickle to their standing grain. Deuteronomy 24:14-15 (NIV) 14 Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns. 15 Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor and are counting on it. Otherwise they may cry to the L ORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin. 3

Acts 15:13-19 (NIV) 13 When they finished, James spoke up. “Brothers,” he said, “listen to me. 14 Peter has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles. 19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we (Apostles-Jesus Disciples) should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 5
