The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye Plus Technical Training

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye Plus  Rapid Eye is an information management, quick- response telesurveillance system.  It is designed to display visual information from distant sites.  It has been specifically designed to assist in:  Alarm verification and identification  Remote guard tour  Remote business management  Remote monitoring and surveillance

The Vision of a Leader Operator Software  The software runs on standard Windows- based PCs and allows the basic Rapid Eye operations:  Remote Video Unit configuration  Alarm management  Video site touring  Situation intervention  Site control

The Vision of a Leader Manager Software  The software runs on standard Windows-based PCs that provides basic “look-in” and record capabilities without interfering with the alarm monitoring of the system.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS screen  Title Bar  Contains the standard Windows conventions used to minimize, resize, and close the application. Once connected to the site, the site name, date and time of the remote unit will also appear in the title bar.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS screen  Toolbar  The Toolbar at the top of the window contains buttons that initiate specific Rapid Eye functions. The buttons displayed in the toolbar will change depending on the Rapid Eye system state:

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  Configure  This function allows you to configure users, the host computer, and remote sites. It also allows entry to remote diagnostics.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  Alarms  This button displays the window used for displaying and processing alarms.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  Dial  This function allows you to connect to a Remote Video Unit. Note: If the Rapid Eye is configured for LAN use, CONNECT will be displayed.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  LAN  POTS

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  Review  This function allows you to view video clips that have been recorded, and allows you to view the Audit Trail.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  Record  Only visible when connected to a remote Video Unit. This button starts recording of live video images as they are received by your PC.

The Vision of a Leader Rapid Eye OS Toolbar  Status Bar  User: this function indicates the currently logged in user.  Display: Indicates which image type is being displayed.  Link: A value received from a communication device. (data transmission rate in bits per second )  Activity: An active bar graph which indicates that communication is occurring between the Remote Video Unit and the Operator Software.

The Vision of a Leader Advanced Configuration  Maintenance:  None:  Standard operation where the unit is normal operating mode.  Diagnostic:  Starts a series of self tests on the Remote Unit.  Sleep:  Restores the factory default configuration parameters.

The Vision of a Leader Advanced Configuration  Password:  The Master User can edit any user ID or Password.  A user can edit only their password.

The Vision of a Leader Remote Diagnostic Interface  RDI is used to send special diagnostic and configuration commands to the Remote Video Unit. The Remote RDI window can only be accessed when you are connected to a site.

The Vision of a Leader Remote Diagnostic Interface  Send File:  Upload any configuration file from the Host PC to the Remote Video unit.  Receive File:  Download any configuration file from the Remote Video Unit to the Host PC.  Command:  This button will execute any configuration change sent to the Remote Video Unit.  Close:  This button will terminate the RDI window.

The Vision of a Leader Adding a Remote Site

The Vision of a Leader Popup Window  Left click and hold the mouse anywhere in the main screen to open the below window, and select Display:

The Vision of a Leader Display Information  Camera Selection  Allows you to select the images that will be transmitted from the Remote Unit.  Resolution  LOW resolution: 160x96 pixels – up to sixteen images.  HIGH resolution: 320x192 pixels – up to four images.  Display Method:  Tile: simultaneously display all images  Cycle: cycling between cameras for a set time (Dwell)  Expand: increase the size of an image (not available in the Tile display method)  Quality / Speed:  Controls the quality of the image versus the refresh rate.

The Vision of a Leader Alarm State  Left click and hold the mouse anywhere in the main screen to open the below window, and select Arm Alarms:  This window allows you to view the states of the Remote Unit’s alarm inputs. Disarmed – Black Armed – Green Triggered – Red Reset - Yellow

The Vision of a Leader Alarm Connections  Remote Video Unit alarm inputs are factory configured to Normally Open (NO).  If required, they can be factory configured as Normally Closed (NC) or End Of Line (EOL).  NO – Alarm is active when switch goes ON.  NC – Alarm is active when switch goes OFF.  EOL – Alarm is active when switch goes ON, or when wires to the resistor are opened. This provides circuit integrity confidence.

The Vision of a Leader Configuring Alarm Inputs  The Alarm Configuration can be changed in the Operator Software using the RDI:

The Vision of a Leader Communication via LAN  If your system is configured for a Local Area Network (LAN) your Remote Video Unit contains a Network Interface Card (NIC) as well as TCP/IP drivers that allow you to connect to the LAN.  You must select an IP address and program it in the Remote Video Unit using the Remote User Interface.  The Remote User Interface (RUI) is text-based software that allows a terminal operator to view and change configuration parameters in the Remote Video Unit.  The RUI is configured for COM1 on a LAN - Remote Video Unit.

The Vision of a Leader Configuring the IP  Open a Hyper-terminal session in Windows.  Set the baud rate, data bits, parity and flow control: 9600 Bits per second 8 Data bits None Parity 1 Stop bit Hardware Flow control
