SWBAT solve two-step algebraic equations.
3
Two-Step Equations are equations that require two- steps to solve. You will ADD or SUBTRACT and then MULTIPLY or DIVIDE. 3x + 8 = 29
4
Coefficient – The number that is attached to a variable 3x + 8 = 29 Coefficient
5
To get rid of the coefficient, you will either MULTIPY or DIVIDE
6
The constant is the number that is not attached to a variable. It MUST be on the same side of the equal sign as the variable. 3x + 8 = 29 Coefficient Constant
7
To get rid of the constant, you will either ADD or SUBTRACT You get rid of the constant FIRST!!
8
4x + 12 = 20
9
To solve two-step equations, you do order of operations in REVERSE This means that you do addition or subtraction FIRST. THEN you do multiplication or division.
10
2x + 4 = 10 2x - 4 = 10 5x + 12 = 32 3x + 6 = 27 9x + 9 = 18 6x + 12 = 18 5x - 15 = 20 8x + 10 = 42
