2. Use of the spreadsheet
The two example I have chosen to use is keeping track of how many fruits are sold in a year. The second example I have chosen is how much a family has spent over a month.

3. Use of Spreadsheet Example 1
The first spreadsheet I have chosen to use is an example of someone’s personal income/outcome and how much money they have left over after one month. I have chosen this as my first example because it shows that you can do lots of different things on a spreadsheet as long as you have some numbers to fill in.
The first feature I like in this spreadsheet is the use of a graph to show the persons income and expenses and the percentage of the income which is already spent.
The second feature I like about this spreadsheet is how its simple it looks without the spreadsheet looking overcrowded with information, it is formatted to look simple without having to see all the formulas and figure that are running the sheet
The first weakness of this spreadsheet is the font and colours that are used don’t go very well together because it is hard to keep track of the information.
The second weakness is that it hasn’t got any boarders around the text so it is easy to lose where you are looking if this spreadsheet had added these weaknesses it would be a very good spreadsheet
Both examples could have used macros to make the spreadsheet more accurate whenever someone want to load the sheet.
I don’t not know if they have used macros but there is a possibility that they have.
If they added all these feature that were on the weakness list the
Spreadsheet would be more useable and would have more productivity.
To work out how much they had to spend they must have used the formula =sum() which add the cells together, also they must have used some formula to work out the percentage they most probably used the formula =n/100 to work out percentages. This also has drop down menu’s which can be used to select certain things like categories. There are also charts in this spreadsheet that can be used to show certain things like numbers, money or amount of people.
This can be useful because you don’t have to add up anything because the computer does it for you, so if your tired you don’t have to make any mistakes.

4. Use of spreadsheet example 2
The second spreadsheet I have decided to use is all about the pay rate of a work place it shows all the data about employees.
The people who made this spreadsheet must have used a formula to make the boxes add up.
They most probably used the formula =sum()
The people who also made this spreadsheet added drop down menu’s that can be used to select a certain category. They added this formula so they don’t have to do the maths in their heads or use a calculator because the computer automatically adds it up for you. This helps you if you are bad at adding up and it also does it for you if you have it set up correctly.
As you can see they have added this formula but I don’t know if they have made a macro to do it automatically but it is a possibility.
Strengths and weaknesses
The first strength of this spreadsheet is the use of drop down menus that are good to select a certain category.
Another strength is the use of formulas in this work as you can see the picture they use the =sum formula.
Weaknesses
The first weakness of their spreadsheet would be there boring use of colours and font.
Another weakness would be there is not graph so it’s a little confusing to see the amounts of money, if they used a pie chart it would make the work better.

6. Strengths and weaknesses of using a spreadsheet
Cost modelling You can uses cost modelling in a spreadsheet to predict if you are going to create a profit or make a loss when looking at how much money the club has spent. You can use formulas to add subtract multiply and divide so that it doesn’t take as much time working out the amount spent and it is always accurate. This would be useful if you owned a shop and you wanted to know how much money you were going to receive after looking at the current profit you are making now. You can use cost modelling to work out if selling items in the shop is a success or what is popular when selling food and drink, you can see this if you make a graph and add annotations The way you could record the data is in a table and at the end of the table the would be a total box which would add up all the figure that you want to add up you would do this because instead of adding up all the figure yourself it would do it for you and it would be more precise. Strengths of cost modelling It can predict if you are going to make a profit in the future and tell you want isn't a success like food stalls etc. It is all automatic once you have created all the spreadsheet Weaknesses to cost modelling You will have to input all the data that you want into the table but then it will work it out itself and then it will need maintaining so it doesn't give you the wrong answer like picking the correct boxes that you want to add up.

7. Tracking learning progress and recording results
You could use tracking anywhere like in a football team tracking the points that your team has or in a shop tracking what has sold the most and what has sold the least. You can record results using spreadsheets and then it will tell the manager if they are at the top of the table or not. It will be able to tell how many points they are down or how many point they are a head and keep a consistent track on the where they are in the league table. You would use drop down boxes will the words win, lose, draw and when you win a game it knows how many point there is and adds another more points on or subtracts the points, this would be an advantage because you can correctly track all the stats about your team and it would be more precise than having a member of staff do it because they could make mistakes and it would make all the stats incorrect It can also record if a player is injured or if they have been put on loan to another team. Strengths of tracking and recording results The strengths of being able to record and track results is being able to know where the team is on the league table and if they are winning or not, this is an advantage because you don’t have to work out if they are winning you will only need to look at the table. Weaknesses of tracking and recording results The weaknesses of being able to record and track on a spreadsheet is it has to be set up first using formulas and then it will be able to record the data you want it to.

8. Example of company's that use excel
There is lots of company's that use excel everyday just too keep track of money and stock control, lots of company's nowadays keep a record of all there data stored in an excel file because its cheap and anyone can access it if they have permission. There are two pictures below of example of how you could use the spreadsheets.
Some example of shops that use excel are big supermarkets like Asda and Sainsbury's and most big shops in general, they do this so they can keep track of all the shops and see all the information that could be use to create a spreadsheet
