2 Effective study habits are vital to your success in a collegiate environment. Study skills only become habits when they are implemented on a day-to-day basis. This Hyper Lesson will introduce to you effective study habits. You will also learn memory techniques you can implement to help you in your studies. You are in control of your own academic success. The choices that you make can be life-altering at this level, both good and bad. Through your journey here you will take a reflective look at choices that you have made academically at strategize what you could have done differently. In addition, you will uncover your intrinsic and extrinsic motivations for achieving academically. As with all the Hyper Lessons, you will complete all activities by following the hyper-links on the slide and following the slide directions. The ad is to promote the “Pathway to Success” class and highlight steps to academic success. What are they? 2.What three things do Intrinsic motivations encompass? 3.From the list on the Interactive activity, identify the benefits you will receive from attending an Early College High School. 4. Identify a subject that you are “curious” about and are interested in learning more about. 5.Write a sentence or two describing why learning about this subject is important to you. 6.Challenge, Curiosity, Control, Fantasy, Cooperation, and Competition can all be motivators to move you towards your goals. Choose one of the factors that moves you towards achieving your goals and write two sentences about how this factor motivates you. Provide an example. Motivation Activities- 5 Total

7 1.Identify where extrinsic motivation comes from. 2.Provide a personal example of a task that you complete due to extrinsic motivation. 3.Who affects your choices in education? Explain how this person affects your choices. 4.Describe what those parties, or that party, gains from influencing your decisions regarding education. 1.Using the examples on the website as a guide, write 3 statements turning an extrinsic motivation to an intrinsic motivation. “I complete “task”.
