2. What is social media?
Social media is websites and applications that enables users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. It is the collective of online communication channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction, content-sharing, and collaboration.

3. What are common uses for social media?
Social media can be used for many different reasons. It can be used for personal reasons, many businesses use social sites to connect with customers, networking, marketing, and entertainment.

4. Is social media a good or bad thing?
Social media can be both good and bad. Social media has to be used for the right reasons. In most cases social media is not used for the right reasons. It’s mostly for personal usage instead of business.

Adults and teenagers.

6. Does social media takes time out of life?
Kids by the ages of eight through eighteen spend more time on social media sites than they do with their parents or at school. Social sites are a huge distraction today in the world. Today in society, there are a lot of websites that can cause disturbances. Lets take a moment to think, have you ever seen a family out in public? Do you notice if that family has a teenager that has a wireless device that they are looking at and that they are not paying attention to anything that is going on? If they aren’t, that teen is most likely on some type of social site.

7. Can you produce negative side effects from social media?
A review of research from the past decade has fount that adolescents who demonstrated internet addiction scored higher for obsessive and compulsive behavior, depression, generalized and social anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, introversion, and other maladaptive behaviors. Social sites can be very addicting to some.
Some people get side tracked from what’s going on in the real world and turn their attention to what’s going on in the cyber world.
The average person checks their Facebook account every couple of hours per day.

8. What are other effects of social media?
Cyber bullying is a negative effect coming from social media. Cyber bullying is the harassment of people online. There are different forms of cyber bullying. Exposing nude pictures, and putting out a persons personal business on the internet or a social site without authorization or permission to do so are different ways of cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is a big issue in teenage society. Eighty-one percent of youth agreed that bulling online is easier to get away with than bullying in person. Most teens will notice cyber bullying going on but will not do anything to help stop the issue. One million children were harassed, threatened or subjected to other forms of cyber bullying on Facebook during the past year. Cyber bullying is very unhealthy.

9. Would society be successful with out social media?
I think society would be successful without social media.
