(1)The pie chart shows the global popularity of six (2)different types of handbags, (3)which were Coach, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Longchamp handbags in 2010, (4)in percentages, (5)whereas the table shows (6)the popularity of the same brands of handbags in the USA and China. (7)Overall, Coach handbags were the most popular in the world and China (8)while Gucci handbags were the most popular in the USA.

(9)Looking at the pie chart, we can see that the most popular handbag in the world was Coach, at just over a third. (10)The second most popular handbag was Louis Vuitton handbags, at 24%. Chanel handbags were next at 12%. These were (11)exactly two times less popular than Louis Vuitton handbags. Gucci handbags were the next most popular, at 10%. These were (12)just under four times less popular than Coach handbags. (13)Together, Longchamp and Prada bags made up 16%, at 9% and 7% (14)respectively. Prada was (15)the least popular of all the brands.

(16)Similar to worldwide sales, in China, Coach bags were the most popular, at just under half. (17)However, the least common handbag was Prada, at 2%. This was also the least popular brand worldwide. (18)Unlike in the world and in China, in the USA, the most common brand of bag was Gucci, at 39%. (19)In contrast, the least popular bag was Louis Vuitton bags, at 5, which was (20)just under five times less popular than Louis Vuitton bags worldwide.
