1 How The Music Industry Been Affected by the Internet and Digital Downloading?
By Melody Rivera

2 Introduction The music industry has been affected by the internet and digital downloading in many ways. We don’t know the exact answer to how its been affected but many people create theories and ideas about it. Here are some ways that the music industry has been negatively affected.

3 Its All About The Money! These days, CD’s are way too expensive.
It would cost about $20 just for one single CD! Music on the internet cost about $2, that’s about $18 less! The internet has a stronger advantage in sales because of its cheaper prices.

4 Let All Music Be Heard! Unfortunately, we don’t hear every single piece of music that is put out there for us. The creators of these underrated musical pieces don’t have enough money to let their songs become viral whether its on the radio or on TV. Most of these creators probably turn to the internet where they can get help to release their music and earn some fans who appreciate them.

5 Everyone is a Critic! We can all agree that we have different tastes, especially in music. CD’s individually cover one genre of music whether its Pop, Hip-hop, Rock , etc. However, people want to own different types of music all at the same time. The solution to these people would be most likely to download the songs their looking for.

6 Home Sweet Home We hate to admit it, but we can all be lazy from time to time. Sometimes, instead of going to the store to buy some CD’s, we would rather prefer to just digitally download some songs off the internet. We just don’t feel like putting effort into things that take time and include leaving home. Home is where the heart is so this is very understandable.

7 Conclusion These are the many ways the music industry has been negatively affected by the internet and digital downloading. As you can see, the internet definitely has more power then the music industry. Is this a good thing may you ask? There could be many answers to this question but as of now, we can give our opinions and wait for what the future has in store for us to seek an answer.
