9 Many people participate in some sports due to the challenge and an acceptable level of risk. Note what sports you consider to fit into this category? Describe how you or an individual can be challenged in activities?

10 Risk Assessments are used to ensure that any potential hazards or risks can be spotted before taking part in the activity What would you need to check for if you were take part in an activity in: A sports hall Swimming pool Rugby pitch Tennis Court

11 Risk Control This is when efforts are made by performers and organisers to ensure activities continues safely after the risk assessment. How can participants ensure that they are performing safely? How can organisers ensure that they will be able to control any possible risks? What safeguards can be put in place to help control and minimize risks?

12 Activity Levels & Needs Levels of activity and needs vary between individuals. We can put them into 2 categories:  Competitive  Recreational What do you think the differences between the activity needs in competition and recreation are? (Write down your thoughts)
