You can mix colours and get new colours.
But look… When you colour on a white card (background) you can watch the perfect colour.
And.. When you colour on a coloured card (background) you can watch how the colour changes.

Our experience Do you know “The Simpsons”? We’ve worked the same picture on different backgrounds. The same colour is different as you change the background. LOOK!
