2 Your Task You are running for president of the United States of America!! Here is what you need to know in order to run…  First you are going to explore this year’s presidential candidates and their campaigns. After you fully understand what each candidate is representing, then you will move onto the two political parties.  As your assignment, you must choose which party you want to belong to based on what each party stands for.  Next, you will design your own slogan and platform. This is explaining to me why they should be voting for you as president!  Finally, we will be creating individual mini-commercials, just like the ones you have seen for the candidates running this year. 10 Have FUN and be CREATIVE! Step 3  Create your own campaign platform  You can use the presidential candidates’ platforms for ideas. Step 4  After everyone has shared their campaign ideas, we will record your slogan and platform in a 30 second- 1 minute video.  This video will be your commercial for election year.  I will guide you through this process. 11 Conclusion o CONGRATULATIONS! You have completed the necessary tasks that are involved with running for presidency. You have experienced what it is like to create your own slogan, platform and you even recorded your own commercial. o Although you have experienced some of the aspects that go into running for president, there are still a lot of things that are required in order to run for president. As a result of this culminating project, students will learn the difference between the two political parties and the differences between the two candidates who are running for president this year.
