3  Invoice for buying supplies on account is similar to invoice when buying merchandise on account.  When buying supplies, a memo is attached to the invoice to explain what was purchased.

5  Purchases Return Credit allowed for the purchase price of returned merchandise  Purchases Allowance Credit allowed for part of the purchase price of merchandise that is not returned  Classified as a contra-cost account Contra account to Purchases Purchases Returns And Allowances Credit Normal Balance  

6  A form prepared by the customer showing the price deduction taken by the customer for returns and allowances  Is called a debit memorandum because the Accounts Payable account is debited when there is a return or an allowance.
