Thanks for the big warning … Mom is angry and reluctantly agrees. How do you think Dad will respond? 1.I don’t appreciate the attitude. 2.It will be OK, you’ll think of something. 3.How about we go out to eat instead? 4.I’m sorry, we’ll postpone.
It’s going to be a “mystery meal.” Mom responds cryptically, Dad’s not sure what to think. How might He answer? 1.Well, how about a simple meal of hot dogs on the grill? 2.Don’t get all crazy, it’s not that tough to do. 3.Listen, this is really important to my future with the company. There’s no way I can postpone.
This is sudden, can’t we postpone? Mom lobbies for a rain check. How do you think Dad might respond? 1.No way! You better not disappoint me! 2.Let me talk to them, I realize this might be too quick. 3.What if I give you an extra hour?
Think About It … What makes Mom apprehensive about the request from Dad? What kinds of things worry Dad about how Mom responds? What other kinds of things cause us anxiety within the family

Consider Jesus’ Advice Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT) "So don't worry about having enough food or drink or clothing.  Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs,  and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
Prayer List things your family is anxious about today Take turns telling God about these problems Thank Him that He is sufficient for each
