3 Bringing IAWP to Atlantic Canada  May 2007 Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement initiated a partnership with RCMP “B” Division & the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary to bring an international training venue to our doorstep.

4  July 2007 former AWLE President MacNaughton, RNC Chief Browne and RCMP A/Comm. Gerry Lynch agreed to co-host the IAWP conference.  $30,000 seed money, co-directors and committee members from each police agency.  AWLE to contribute $5,000 and executive and in- kind support.

5  April 2008 the AWLE and Conference Co- Directors hosted the IAWP Board of Directors Board Meeting in St. John’s.  September 2008 the 2012 Newfoundland Conference Bid Committee made a successful presentation at the IAWP AGM in Australia.

17 In 2008 while at the IAWP Annual General Meeting in Darwin, Australia the St. John’s bid committee, in partnership with the AWLE, won a historic bid to host the 2012 International Conference. The first time ever in Atlantic Canada! AWLE, RCMP, RNC 50 th Annual IAWP Conference
