Moisture management  Superior moisture absorbency  Superior wicking properties  Enhanced rate of drying  Thermal comfort  Lightness Passerelle TM improves the moisture management, handle, and comfort characteristics of natural and synthetic fibres.

 Passerelle™ enhances the absorbing properties of fabrics by creating a highly water-absorbing surface.  Measuring the absorbency  Fabrics are placed on a water surface for 10 seconds and reweighed to calculate water absorbency  A fabric treated with Passerelle™ is able to absorb up to 10- times the amount of water compared with an untreated fabric Properties Absorption TM

Superior wicking and evaporation can be demonstrated on Passerelle™ treated 100% PES. Wicking Treated Untreated TM Properties

Rapid absorbency and evaporation of moisture is key to maintaining comfort. Passerelle™ treated fabrics show an enhanced rate of drying due to superior absorbency and wicking properties. Passerelle™ treated fabrics help to maintain thermal comfort by controlling moisture in the fabric. Drying TM Properties

 Passerelle ™ is a non-silicone, hydrophilic, durable finish.  Imparts a natural handle.  Imparts a feeling of volume to fibres e.g. towels.  On synthetics, drape and wearability is improved.  Imparts breathability to fabric which improves comfort.  Unique patented chemistry. TM Properties

Water droplet – simple, quick and can be easily demonstrated. Wicking – vertical movement of water, construction dependent. Evaporation – particularly for performance fabrics, requires accurate measurement, horizontal movement of water. Drying Time – vertical movement of water, alternative to evaporation, gives profile of water lost from fabric surface. Spreading – water movement across a fabric surface. Water absorption – water affinity test, particularly applicable to heavy or voluminous fabrics e.g. fleece. TM Test methods

A droplet of water is placed on flat fabric (face up). The time taken for the droplet to completely penetrate into the fabric is recorded up to a maximum of 60 seconds. Water Droplet TM Test method

Vertically suspend fabric samples so that bottom is just touching water surface. Measure the distance travelled by the water during a set period of time. Measure performance in both warp and weft direction. Wicking TM Test method

Very simple to carry out. Apply 1 ml of water and measure the maximum diameter of spread after 1 minute. Spreading TM Test method

Circle of fabric 10 cm in diameter Place on to the surface of water in a beaker for 10 seconds then accurately weigh the pick up of water. Absorption TM Test method

 Circle of fabric laid flat in the bottom of a petri dish.  Weigh dish and sample before adding 1 ml of water, reweigh and record change in weight over 30 minutes.  Calculate % water evaporated and actual weight of water evaporated to give graphic representation. Evaporation TM Test method

Fabric samples are wet out completely, hydro- extracted and weighed accurately. Samples then hung vertically and weighed every five minutes until a constant weight is reached this is the drying time. Drying time TM Test method

Initially it seemed untreated fabric dried quicker than Passerelle ™ treated fabric But Passerelle™ took up over twice the amount of water than untreated fabric. TM Curiosity

Marketing support

 Passerelle™ provides:  Easy absorption of sweat and humidity  Wicking of moisture to the fabric's service  Fast drying  And is durable to washing TM Conclusions
