2 Why do a workshop on this? Several teachers have indicated the need to have access to video resources for a wide variety of purposes that are not blocked by content filters  Many teachers resort to downloading videos at home and playing them off their multimedia players at school

4 NeoK12 http://www.neok12.com Educational videos, lessons, and games for grades K-12 Features a wide variety of videos on a large range of subjects  Physical Science *  Life Science *  Human Body *  Earth & Space *  Social Studies  Math  English  Fun Videos * Comprise in all about 50% of videos available

5 Educationalminimovies.com http://educationalminimovies.com Offers a variety of videos and mini- movies on a number of subjects:  Math  Language Arts  Science  Music  Social Studies  Family & Consumer Science  Art  Drama & Dance  P.E. & Sports

6 Edutopia http://www.edutopia.org Edutopia is a site dedicated to improving public schools and public education The video section specializes in videos showcasing how to enrich students’ learning by engaging in project-based learning activities in a number of different subject areas This site is geared more for enriching teachers’ learning about how to improve their instruction than for showing videos for students

8 Learner.org http://www.learner.org Offers 9-12 level resources in several categories: Arts; Foreign Language; Literature & Language Arts; Mathematics; Science; and Social Studies & History Once you select the topic that you want, you will be led to a resource page containing many different workshops to choose from  Click on the small icon labeled “VoD” (Video on Demand) to view the video associated with the topic  One drawback: the video player is somewhat small!

9 Commoncraft.com http://commoncraft.com Specializes in providing short videos that help educators explain complex subjects  Four Main Catagories: Green (Environment-related topics); Money; Society; and Technology (which has the most choices)  The newest videos are found in the lower left part of their main page, in the “From Our Blog” section, or under “Our Latest Videos”
