3 Introduction Concerned by the large number of departing long- time CHDP program Deputy Directors, the Child Health and Disability Prevention Program Executive Committee appointed a task force in 2008 to design a training curriculum for new Directors and Deputy Directors. The task force was made up of representatives from all regions and State CHDP staff. The following training program is the result of two years effort by the task force. 7/1/2010 3

4 Introduction The training is designed to be used in a variety of ways. The training can be accomplished through independent study by an individual or can be presented as a group training. The sections are self-contained and users may choose to review selected sections or may choose to complete the whole program. Note: Some sections contain website links. 5 Introduction Questions or comments about the program or content can be directed to the CHDP Executive Committee through your Regional Association of CHDP Directors and Deputy Directors. The Executive Committee will assume responsibility for updating the training program as needed. 7/1/2010 5
