4. What is an persuasive essay?  An essay written to make someone agree with you.  Persuasive is more emotional.  Argument is more logical.

Thesis Statement  Your introduction must include a thesis statement, which states the main idea of your essay – your position on the topic.  Thesis statement is the last sentence of the introductory paragraph.  Thesis has three parts/prongs which list the three main ideas in the order they are to be presented in the essay.  Students should be able to ___ because ____, _____ and ________.

10. The Body  Body – Supporting paragraphs Where you tell your readers in detail what you want them to know about your topic.
