3  Objective- Learn about the role of creative writing in the world and specifics for the class.  Warm-up- Using the following words, write a short story in a paragraph, that makes logical sense. Zucchini stapler trampoline post-its plagiarism elephant paper hamburger Article- Why Teach Creative Writing? Syllabus HW- 1 page reflection on creative writing

4  Objective- Review elements of the writing process and learn what role they play in writing creatively.  Warm-up- Turn in one page reflection  Read the quotes about writing handout and jot down a few thoughts on each quote.  Overview of writing process  Writing Creatively using the writing process- begin step by step practice  HW- Signed syllabus and Kindle Policy Due Tomorrow

5  Objective- Learn to use the writing process with every practiced writing.  Warm-up – Observation Chart- choose an object in the room and fill out the chart for that object.  Work through all steps of the writing process to have a completed draft by the end of the hour  HW- Research poetry vs. prose by reading online articles about poetry vs. prose. See website for specific articles. Be prepared to share on Monday.
