Vision Hosting the Olympic games is a huge honor and can have great benefits. For example, they usually physically develop by gaining infrastructures and tourism. Something that makes a city a good host city is how cheap the land is so that the government can buy lots of land and it is cheap to build on. It’s also good if the city is a safe city and people would want to go to the city to visit.- which they would in Rome, it is a tourist location. It is also good if there are already a few sport venues so that the government doesn’t have to build every single infrastructure. The country hosting is in charge of a lot and overall has a fair amount of say whilst making decisions although most of the decisions made are made by the IOC.
Government Being the host city for the Olympics would impact the government in many ways. It would be good for tourism rates as they would greatly increase for the games, people would even come after the actual games so that they could see the stadium. The city would become known because of how worldwide the Olympics are. It could also be negative because of the expenses and financial business of building the stadiums. Rome has a good government so it would be able to help pay for the buildings. It is a fairly good place to hold the Olympics because of how easy it is to get to. There are many direct flights right to Rome, partly because it is the capital of Italy. Since Rome is naturally a tourist area, there are already many hotels and places for people to stay, Although it would probably be very expensive.
Sport Venues As Rome has hosted the Olympic Games before (in 1960) theyy rest have already built an Olympic aquatic center. No renovation is needed as it was renovated in 2008. However, the main stadium needs renovation as it was only expanded in the 1990s.
Infrastructure Transportation- there are many trams and ways to get around. The bus network has over 350 bus lines and around 8 thousand bus stops. New Infrastructure- the host city usually gains new highways, new sports facilities and other new facilities but since Rome has a lot of sports venues they will not gain as much, but the government won't have to pay for as much. The sport facilities that would have to be built would stay in the city and would be used in the future for future games, when the city is hosting the games again.
Accommodation The main stadium is surrounded by 2 fancy restaurants. There is not much hotels of any kind in the surrounding area since the area is quite poor. However, there is nice land nearby and some opportunity of building the athlete's habitations or hotels for tourists. Also, the main stadium is surrounded by the other stadiums and includes efficient transportation which needs a bit of renovation and cleaning. Although there is already some stadiums built and some transportation, it is necessary to rebuild or redesign the transit systems.
Security Rome is a relatively safe city. There is no serious danger for example kidnapping; but pickpocketing does occur quite often. Street boys like to steal little things from the tourists. There are Italian Police Officers who patrol the city; Although you rarely see them on the streets. Like any city there are sketchy streets as you get into poorer parts of the city. The main tourist parts of the city are safe. If the Olympics were held in Rome, it would be relatively safe and easy to secure.
Environmental Conditions In Rome, there are sunny days most of the time, so you can explore the wonders of this city. Look upon the sea, as there are sunny skies. A beautiful time to watch the Olympic Games, as you will be feeling relaxed, and ready to watch the show. Enjoy your stay, as the temperature is mostly always 25 degrees. At the location where the Olympics will be held where it is sunny and has wonderful wildlife, so all the spectators can enjoy their stay in Rome. The City of Rome enjoys favorable climate conditions because of its geographic location of the Mediterranean Sea, which carries with it all the advantages of the maritime climate.
Socioeconomic Impact One huge social economic impact is the tourism it would bring. Rome already has a lot of tourism and having the stadiums there would cause the tourism to increase greatly, the employment rates to increase and the overall GDP to rise. This would level out with the expense of the stadiums and the hotels.
