2  New Literacies usually refers to new forms of literacy made possible by technology. Some recognized examples of new literacies are such as: 1. Instant Messaging 2. Blogging 3. Maintaining a website 4. Social networking 5. Multimedia sharing 6. Podcasting 7. Emailing 8. Online chat

3 Social Networking  Social networking allows institutions such as schools to reach people in important network platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.  By posting News, Contact Information and pictures, it allows people and potential costumers to learn about the institution in a place where they feel comfortable. 4 Multimedia sharing  People can share files through distances, it can go from music to important documents.  Online, you can learn a new language, mathematics or learn about distant cultures.  This is many people’s favorite way to learn or watch news, since is easy, at the comfort of your house and many times free!  Learn Chinese videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApYHahBeBTQ

5 Blogging  A blog is a discussion site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries.  Blogging can reach to students by professor or other students points of views and comments about a specific subject.  Blogginc can sometimes have undorseen consequences in political areas since they are much harder to control than broadcast or print media. 6 Emailing  Email is an instant way of written communication, by where one can send to one or many recipients.  Is the most important way of communicating between students and professors. Other than in person  Most institutions will set up their own Email Host, where anyone associated with the institution can assign an account with them.
