4 Common Postsecondary Grants Depends on Family Income Federal Pell Grant Many students receive this grant Average range of award: $575 - $5,550 Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) Provides additional funding for students with more financial need Federal Teach Grant Up to $4,000 a year for students who are beginning a career in teaching Minnesota State Grant 43% of funds for students with family incomes below $20,000, 37% goes to those with incomes between $20,000 and $50,000 20% goes to those with incomes over $50,000
