5 Population Density  The majority of the population is focused through the center of the country and there are many large cities on the coast of Colombia. The population goes down as you get in the mountain areas of the country and the very low areas.

6 Geography  A mountain range runs through the western part of the country and there is a spot of mountains on the eastern seaboard. Other than those two parts of the country, Colombia is rather flat with a few low areas.

11 Other Facts  Women were first able to vote in 1957.  Colombia first qualified for the World Cup finals in 1962.  Colombia has 95% of all emeralds in the world.  Pico Bolivar and Pico Colon are Colombia’s highest mountains.  Gabriel Garcia Marquez is Colombia’s only Literature Nobel Prize winner.
