2 His Family His family members are his wife Ardell, his four children Andra, Leah, Barret and Graham, and two grandchildren Calder and Hayden.

3 Early life He learned how to skate by the age of 5, he practiced in the basement of his house by shooting pucks at the wall of his basement with his older brother. The only “ live ” hockey he witnessed was when he tagged along with his sister and her friends boyfriends play hockey. In his early life he played for the Lethbridge Sugar Kings of the Alberta junior hockey league.

4 Early life continue... After years of minor hockey hockey he left home at the age of 16 to try out for the Lethbridge Sugar Kings.He made the team but was unspectacular in his first season, registering only 2 goals in 34 games

5 Set-back Lanny McDonald’s set back was his knees started hurting because of all of the falls he had, so as his knees got worse the coach benched Lanny a lot more.

6 Accomplishments In Lanny McDonald scored 50 goals and earned 114 points. The following season he scored 62 goals and earned 139 points. Earned 253 points in 136 games in the Medicine Hat Tigers WCHL. McDonald scored over 500 career goals and over 1000 career points and played in over 1000 games and appeared in 4 NHL all-star games during his 16 seasons as a professional hockey player.

He has been awarded the Bill Masterton Trophy. The King Clancy Trophy. Also the Budweiser man of the year trophy.

9 Teams He Played On Lanny McDonald was born February 16th 1953 in Hanna Alberta. He played for the Calgary Centennials from 1970 to 1971 WCHL league . From 1971 to 1973 he played for the Medicine Hat Tigers WCHL league. From 1973 to 1980 he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs NHL league. From 1980 to 1982 they played for the Colorado Rockies. He was traded in the 1981 to 1982 season where he played the captain for the Calgary Flames until 1989.

11 Memorial cup His team played against the Toronto Marlies and the Quebec Rempartin the memorial cup sadly they lost the memorial cup, but he stayed in Montreal.

12 Finally ! He finally got to meet Goerge Armstrong and his favourite goaltender Johny Bower. He also got to meet the rest of the team on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

14 Facts! McDonald was the first choice for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
All of the men were top of the class. His favourite goaltender was Johny Bower He was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan of course. He learned his enjoyment of hockey from his dad, a life long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. George Armstrong is one of the Players for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
