2 NW Regional Cyber Crime Unit Titan is collaboration of the 6 NW police forces. Cyber Crime Unit established Jan 2014.

3 VISION To contribute alongside local, regional, national and international partners, towards the provision of a safer and more secure cyber environment, in support of the National Cyber Security Strategy and Organised Crime Strategy, that enhances trust and confidence in the UK as a place to live and conduct business. MISSION To increase public confidence and reduce harm to the UK from cyber crime by collaborating with appropriate partners to improve and enhance mainstream and specialist capabilities of the Police Service.

7 Challenges Digital Footprints are growing – the problem is only getting bigger. Increasing use of encryption and anonymity – attribution is difficult. “Bullet Proof” hosting - Servers / Services are outside UK jurisdiction. Electronic storage growing and shifting to the Cloud. Technology companies / Industry – building relationships and confidence.

Is there a need to include greater emphasis on ethical use of the internet as well as safe us in educational programmes ?
