-An axle is a rod that connects to a wheel or lever -A wheel and axle involves two objects attached in the centre, one of which turns the other Wheel Axle

3 What is wheel and axle A wheel and axle is a lever that rotates in a circle around a center point or fulcrum. The larger wheel (or outside) rotates around the smaller wheel (axle).

4 Examples of Wheels and Axles
Bicycle Pencil sharpener Car Roller skates Fan Wagon Windmill And more …

5 A bicycle Our model is Bicycles have large wheels so
they go faster. When you pedal, you power the inside of the wheel. But the wheel's outer rim turns around faster and covers more ground, so your pedaling has a much greater effect. Description of how wheels and axle works A wheel, together with an axle overcomes friction by facilitating motion by rolling. In order for wheels to rotate, a moment needs to be applied to the wheel about its axis, either by way of gravity, or by application of another external force

6 Calculations Force 0.2 x 9.8 = 1.96 N Work 1.96 x 0.4867 = 0.953932
(Mass of an object) x 9.8 0.2 x 9.8 = 1.96 N Work (force) X (distance in meter) 1.96 x =
