Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 15 HDS System Overview Broadband Sounder – Benefits Summary 1.Higher Sensitivity – Broadband is more sensitive than current sonar which means Wider cone angle (detect fish & objects earlier) Detects smaller and deeper fish – Best results may be found at much lower sensitivity than analog sonar – Bottom lock is held at very high speeds – This sensitivity is achieved with very low power output (250W peak-to-peak) – Pixel counts are not the measure of performance any longer! 2.Less Clutter and Better Target Discrimination – Broadband can better tell the difference between fish, structure, thermoclines, and other fish – Less noise in the water column and at the surface means a clearer picture 3.Dual Frequency in Shallow Water – Broadband enables 83kHz frequency in the standard 1” skimmer – 83kHz has a much wider cone angle (with more surface clutter) and goes deeper – Split frequency shows more fish and better arches 4.Deep Water Penetration – Tracks bottom and shows fish into deep, deep water
16
Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 16 HDS System Overview Broadband Sounder – 200kHz Lake Oolagah, OK June 2008, using 1.7” Skimmer Target discrimination improved: More trees, and more fish seen Less screen clutter between the trees Bottom composition more defined – and fish seen around the hump
17
Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 17 HDS System Overview Broadband Sounder – 83kHz Wider cone angle = much wider fish arches More bottom coverage clearly shows humps and hole Fish are clearly visible against the thermocline

Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 19 HDS charting support varies regionally In North America a range of cartography is supported: – New Lowrance Insight maps built-in on select models – Navionics SD cards up to Platinum+ supported from Feb 2009 – Lowrance Lakemaster and all existing Lowrance SD cards supported – Units without Insight still offer built-in cartography value, with an Enhanced US basemap expanded on the one currently available on the LMS product range, providing coastal navaids and detailed shorelines and depth contours for over 4,000 US lakes Elsewhere, Navionics is the primary chart option – Units will ship with a Navionics background map with limited soundings / navaids – Nauticpath International will still be supported The Lowrance and Navionics charts are accessed through separate software applications Products not distributed by Navico in EMEA and APAC will be geofenced, and the charting will not function in these regions without being unlocked HDS charting is not networked; SD card charts must be installed in each display, however navigation data is networkable via Ethernet HDS System Overview Charting Options
20
Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 20 Supported cartography in North America: – New Lowrance Insight maps built-in on select models Lake Insight = All Fishing Hot Spots detail (value $400), and the Great Lakes including new data Nautic Insight = Nauticpath, plus new contour data Insight USA = Both Lake Insight and Nautic Insight – Navionics SD cards up to Platinum+ supported from Feb 2009 – Lowrance Lakemaster and all existing Lowrance SD cards supported – Units without Insight still offer built-in cartography value, with shoreline and detailed depth contours for over 4,000 lakes, and coastal nav-aids The Insight products are offered only built-in, not on SD card Note that HDS charting is not networked HDS System Overview Charting Options

Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 26 HDS System Overview Data Display Data in HDS is displayed either using the Data Overlay feature or the Info panel – Data Overlay allows any item on the system to be placed anywhere on any page, displayed as either an analog gauge or digital value – The Info panel can be used for full screen fuel or engine management Data is sourced from either internal or serially connected sensors (including NMEA 0183), NMEA 2000, or Ethernet networks
27
Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 27 HDS System Overview NMEA 2000 and Ethernet Networking HDS supports NMEA 2000 (LowranceNET) and Lowrance Ethernet NMEA 2000 is a lower cost, lower speed, high reliability industry standard used for lower cost sensors and interconnection between manufacturers. – High reliability for engine management applications – Requires independent power so a start-up cost is involved in setting up a network – Network layout rules must be observed – Once a customer has installed the starter kit, additional sensors can be added easily Ethernet is higher speed and higher bandwidth. Marine Ethernet networks are proprietary. – Allows high bandwidth system components to network – Simple network layout – HDS supports full sharing of sonar, radar, weather and radio, waypoints / routes / trails (not charts), and some sensors and alarms – Old-style NMEA 2000 waypoint sharing is still supported
28
Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 28 HDS System Overview NMEA 2000 networking with HDS has a simplified network design. – Network power is no longer supplied by the head unit. Existing PC- 27BL power cables will work, but will not power a network – A new starter kit containing power cable, terminators and other components is required to start building a network – Connection of an additional head unit requires purchase of a T-junction and drop cable of appropriate length – Power node N2K-PWR-RD can be purchased to power a retrofit network previously powered from a head unit Ethernet networking is unchanged. – One yellow connector is available on each display – Simple connection of two head units can be accomplished with an ethernet cable – Connection of additional components or multiple displays requires Navico Expansion Port NEP-1 Changes from LMS / LCX / Globalmap
29
Company Confidential © 2008 Navico Holding AS Page 29 HDS System Overview NMEA 2000 networking with HDS is easier to sell. – There is only one supported network layout – A new starter kit containing power cable, terminators and other components is required to start building a network (unless pre- installed) – Connection of an additional head unit requires purchase of a T-junction and drop cable of appropriate length – Power node N2K-PWR-RD can be purchased to power a retrofit network previously powered from a head unit Ethernet networking is unchanged.
